WOYWW 73

So much for my comment last week about the threat of viewings reining in my inate untidiness - this is what my workdesk (aka the kitchen table) looked like when the Estate Agent rang to say that someone wanted to view the house - argh! Cue major panic and massive tidy up operation! And the offending article that had caused all of this mess? The photo frame for my sister that I had literally just finished - apologies if you've already seen this as it's in my previous post, but I like it so much that I had to share it again! My sister has seen the photo of it and I'm very pleased to say that she loves it! It still needs sealing and then the photo of the two of them in their Halloween costumes can go on display :D

Thank you for all the lovely comments about my experiments with distress inks last week, I've decided to follow Julia's suggestion and turn them into a collage, so watch this space! A couple of people asked if I had any tips for using distress inks - I don't really as I'm only just learning myself, through a process of trial and error - but one thing I will say is that having a non-stick craft mat makes a huge difference. I'm using an oven liner as a temporary measure but even that has made a difference.

If you're new to WOYWW and want to know what on earth I'm wittering about, head on over to Julia's blog and she'll fill you in!

It;s a fab piece of finished frame Lorraine - I'm sure your sissy will love it - had to back pedal to your previous post for a good long close up! OMG, am a bit concerned that you're taking my advice - remember, I don't take my own advice and I am not a doctor!!

Tidying up before visitors - did you just put in all in a laundry basket and stash it in the closet - that's how I manage. I like the frame - nicely detailed. S #84

Love what you are making and the mess is lovely to me! I will be watching out for hints and tips on selling whilst hiding a craft desk... might just lock the door and try to sell our house as 1 room less!!!

Your frame looks great! If someone came by to see my house, I'd probably shovel everything from the desktop into an empty tote. Yikes!

Gosh I used to hate having people round to look at the house when it was for sale. All that bloomin' tidying!

Good luck (again) with the viewing. We are trying to sell an aunts house and it is a nightmare. Thanks for sharing your desk and hope you got it tidied and then messed up again. #46

Love the frame. Please feel free to make me one; I'll be happy to send you my address! And please don't make viewers force you to abandon your untidiness. For someone like me whose desk normally looks like a post-hurricane apocalypse, I find WOYWW very reassuring! Messy people unite!

cheers,

Great work on the frame - that's going to look so great! I use an oven liner too (much cheaper than an official craft mat)!

I love Distress Inks and use them all the time. Aldi have a great tough cooking liner in this week at £2.99. I need another one.
Have fun

for me, neatness and mess has been a cycle. my first WOYWW post was right after i cleaned up and i thought joining would make me keep my desk clean. but, that wasn't the case and at times it was piled high! now i am in the neat phase again, thank goodness. i don't know how long it will last though.

I was here about four hours ago, but I couldn't sit long enough to write a proper comment. Sorry I'm late this week, but I'm taking it slow and sure. I wanted to stop by and thank you for your sweet comment on my blog and tell you how much I like that frame for your sister. I'd be proud of it, too. As for the table, I'm sure you did a quick tidy before the people came to see the house. Thanks again for visiting me (#15).
