UKScrappers CyberCrop

Wow, what a busy weekend! I've never done a cybercrop before, and didn't know what to expect, but I really enjoyed it. My only regret is that I didn't have the pennies to buy the right stash for some of the classes, but I've kept the instructions and will definitely be having a go at them in the future. I managed three layouts that I'm really pleased with:

'Island Paradise' is from The Angel, Islington class using hand cut frames. I don't use my craft knife that often, so I'm pretty pleased with my first attempt. The photo is one I had left over from my trip to Borneo last summer, I'm glad I've finally been able to do it justice - I wouldn't normally use such a big photo on an LO.

{Sepilok} was from the Super Tax challenge, using up all that posh stash that you can't bear to use! I really enjoyed this one, the LO is my own design using yet another Borneo pic, which goes really well with the Crate Paper pps and embellies. I normally choose the photo then the papers, so this was a novel way around for me!

'Playing Fetch' is from the Fleet Street class. I didn't have the time, or the stash to make handmade flowers, and I had this beautiful Basic Grey cs sticker just begging to be used so I cheated! I'm pleased with the doodling though, again not normally something I would do.

Even though I didn't manage to do much of the CC, what I did definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me try something new. I'm really pleased with the results and can't wait for the next one! Oh and of course being on the winning team helped - well done Ships!

Exploring the Garden

Was a busy bee yesterday and managed to complete this layout of Leela exploring our garden. I promised myself recently that I would start using up some of my old stash before I buy any more - I'm terrible at buying patterned paper and then deciding that it's too nice to use! I've had these papers for a while, and the photos too. I couldn't decide which of the four photos to use, so went with all four - I like the way the movement flows through the photo series.

I decided to go with homemade embellishments for a change too, and spent ages cutting out flowers and leaves from the papers. I like the finished result though, so definitely think it was time well spent.

I joined the UKScrappers CyberCrop this morning - I've never taken part in one before so I'm a bit nervous about it, but I'm looking forward to trying all the classes and maybe trying techniques and styles that I wouldn't normally.

My Cat The Dog

I thought I'd give one of my other furbabies a moment in the sun for a change!

I took these photos during the bad snow at the beginning of the year. Every time we took Mojo out for a walk she came back covered in snowballs, so we brought her bed downstairs and covered it in blankets so she had somewhere to thaw out. That plan backfired though when the youngest of our two cats, Leela, decided that it looked like a comfy place to sleep, and adopted the bed as her own! We shouldn't have been surprised, as Leela has also adopted Mojo as her mum, and often comes on walks with us - I don't know what I must look like with a dog trotting on one side and a cat on the other as I walk up the road!

I think I'm getting a bit better at taking photos of layouts, thanks to all the tips from everyone on UKScrappers, but I must remember to turn the flash off!
