Torch Relay (The Studio Challenges Olympic Blog Hop)

Welcome to The Studio Challenges Olympic Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Anna, but if you didn't, the full list is at the bottom of this post so don't worry!
In honour of London 2012, each team member has created a layout based on inspiration taken from different aspects of the Olympic Games. I decided to focus on the fabulous torch relay, and used a couple of the photos that I took when the torch passed through our part of the country.
I was so pleased to be able to get so close - that, combined with my fab zoom lens, meant I managed to get a couple of shots that I was really happy with.
What would you take inspiration from for an Olympic layout? Leave a comment and let me know, and you'll be entered into a draw to win a little prize from me! I've put together a quick page kit based on my layout - unfortunately I only had one sheet of the Lily Bee paper that I've used as my background, so I've included a similar sheet of Studio Calico paper instead. You'll also get some white cardstock, Fancy Pants alpha stickers, some Elle's Studio tags, Union flag ribbon, star sequins, a tag and envelope. You have until Friday 3rd August, and I'll announce the winner on Saturday 4th August.
Your next stop is  Katherine. Thanks for joining in on our celebratory blog hop!
Here's the full blog hop list:

I've already done a torch LO but I do like the idea of using the rings as inspiration for a LO. I used that same Lily Bee paper on my torch LO as well. I gutted it though and I still have a little bit left. Thanks for a chance to win. Lovely LO.

Great, fresh looking layout &, WOW, great photos!!!
I'd take inspiration from the torch itself I think, the punchenella (sp?) style outer shell, & the gently sloping sides.

Hi Jules your layout is fantastic! I also got to see the Olympic torch so I will be taking inspiration from that too for my Olympic layout!

Great idea for a layout! I'm rather literal and obvious, so I would likely somehow incorporate rings/circles into an Olympic layout.

Great layout and you're right, those photos are fab!I never got to see the torch so my inspiration would be the cauldron at the ceremony-what a stunning torch that was when it all came together.

Great little details on this page and well done on the pics - I needed a zoom lens today as got to see handball at the games but my 50-90 wasn't cutting it!

Love your layout-I would probably make a sports page about my son (in fact, thinking I am inspired to make one right now!)

What a great memory! And your page highlights it beautifully! LOVE all those starry details!

That's a lovely page. I need to scrap my torch photos too. I like the idea of interlocking rings on a scrapbook page, not necessarily in Olympic colours. I think a row of rings would make a great border.

I've yet to make a torch page yet Jules but I get my inspiration from the torch itself. *Ü* Great page and fab photos. Such an honour to be a torch bearer and a great photo opportunity. TFS. ~Glen~

Fabulous LO, you've really captured the spirit of the occasion. I'm going to dig out some photos from a trip to Greece, the home of the original games!

Yup I think gold punchinella could finally get an airing for a torch-inspired page ... love your page - how fab to have had a British runner to see carrying it!

What a beautiful layout, and such an important part of the whole event, brings the whole country together ... People inspire me ... so either the athletes or the spectators!!!!

Gorgeous layout, It would have to be the torch bearers for me too,my uncle in law carried it down in Cornwall, My sister in laws dad carried it through some of Blackpool & a girl in my office was also a torch bearer so I've been lucky enough to hold a real Olympic torch, but sadly didn't get a photo :( However after watching the diving & swimming my DD has now decided she wants to be a swimmer so she dragged her dad off to the pool today whilst I was at work.

This LO is amazing! Fabulous photos I bet that was so cool to be that close! I would use inspiration from the colors of the rings, so many to choose from and it would make a bright LO! Thanks so much!

Great layout, I like the little touches of dots, stars, etc. I think I would take inspiration from the parade of nations in the opening ceremonies.
