I've got two layouts in the current issue of Scrapbook Magazine (yay!), both inspired by collage. This is the first, which uses the Quirky Kit from June/July.I used lots of stamps and layers and layers of papers and embellishments to give a 'college-y' feel. Not sure how successful I was, but I do like the finished layout :D

I've been having lots of fun recently, playing with the August download stamps from Stampmaker by Photocentric. For this layout I got carried away with the fabulous hexagon stamp and lots of the 6x6 versions of the 'Heyday' papers by Studio Calico. You can also see the chevron stamp in the top right hand corner - I'll definitely be using that one a lot!
Pop over to the Photocentric blog for a quick tutorial on how I put this layout together.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you're having a lovely and craft-filled Bank Holiday weekend!

It's challenge time over at The Studio again, and this week Val has created one of her fab sketches for us to use! This is my take, using lots of Studio Calico goodness, mostly from the 'Heyday' collection. I've also recently acquired several of the wood veneer shapes so you'll be seeing them crop up a lot!
I've had a crazy week - I've been off work but we've been decorating the bedroom - stripping wallpaper, painting, laying laminate flooring, building wardrobes, wallpapering - it's been exhausting! Especially when part of the wardrobe that wasn't supposed to come to pieces did, and landed on my foot, ouch!
Thanks for stopping by, make sure you hop over to The Studio to see what the rest of the team did with Val's sketch - there are some amazing layouts!

The August challenge is up at Truly Madly Crafty, and this month Maxine has challenged us to take all things summery as our inspiration. I immediately pulled out all of the lovely yellow and orange tones from the Studio Calico 'Heyday' collection, and some Elle's Studio tags, to reflect the colours of summer.Mojo has stopped posing for me as much (I think she's getting a bit fed up of the camera!), so I'm having to be more inventive with the shots that I take. I got this one by setting my camera on the grass, tilting it upward slightly and firing off several shots as she ran towards me. I love the fact that she's not fully in the frame, but you can see the motion of her running and the edge of her happy smile at the top of the photo.
The title is a combination of alpha stickers and thickers which have been misted with Dylusions spray inks in yellow and orange.

It's Sunday, so that means a new challenge at The Studio, and this week Amanda has challenged us to use a new technique on our layouts. I've noticed a trend for oversized photos recently, so I thought I'd give one a go as my technique.I picked this photo of Mojo as it has a lot of white space across the top that I could add embellishments to. I had it printed at 12x8 which gave me just a small amount of space to work with at the top of the layout. I chose three coordinating papers from October Afternoon's '9 to 5' collection and arranged them in a sunburst pattern above the photo. I added a strip of washi tape to the top of the photo, and layered up several pieces from the '9 to 5' flower sack and sticker sheet.
The title is a mix of Pink Paislee alpha stickers and wood veneer alphas, and October Afternoon alpha stickers. I've also added a few Studio Calico kraft butterflies.
Finally I stitched all the way round the edge of the layout. I'd love to say I used my sewing machine, but it seems to have died on me, so all of this was hand stitched! It took forever, but I'd got it into my head that the layout needed some stitching, so I knew I wouldn't be happy with it without any!
I also have the winner from the Olympic Blog Hop - thanks to everyone who visited and left a comment, the Olympics seems to have inspired everyone in loads of different ways, which is great! I've been getting really emotional over it all in the last couple of days! Go Team GB!!
I left it to random.org to choose a winner, and it came up with comment number 18:
Thanks for stopping by today, make sure you hop over to The Studio, the new team started today and there's some fabulous inspiration!

I've been meaning to scrap this photo for a while, but wasn't quite sure how to incorporate it into a layout - that was until I saw the latest challenge at Merly Impressions, which is to create a layout about 'why I scrapbook'.
I combined the photo with lots of Studio Calico 'Heyday' papers, plus wood veneer arrows and alpha stickers, an MME stamp and a shipping tag. The tag is tucked under the photo and contains my journaling.
This photo highlights why I scrapbook perfectly - I enjoy photography, and I love being creative - scrapbooking allows me to combine the two, and I get to preserve memories at the same time - what's not to love!
Don't forget you've still got until Friday to comment on my Studio blog hop post to be in with a chance of winning a page kit!
