Little Devil

I'm a little late with this layout - it went up at The Studio on Sunday, but life is rather crazy at the moment, and will be until I finish work at the end of the month! For this week's challenge Val created one of her fabulous sketches, and I had great fun with it.
I used lots of different supplies on this layout, including some MME papers and stamps, Jenni Bowlin paper and hexagon stickers, Elles Studio tags, a Studio Calico mask and Photocentric stamps. The alphas are Thickers and Kesi'Art stickers.
The photos are of my in law's dog, Sam, who is very much a little devil!

As always the rest of the team have produced some amazing layouts, do pop over and check them out!

Halloween Cupcake Toppers

The September download stamps from Photocentric are fabulous! The set is Halloween themed, so I've been using it to add to last year's party decor, as we're not only repeating our Halloween party this year, but we're doubling up with Bonfire Night and having a joint party between the two - and I can't wait!
I'll definitely have a load of these on the table for guests to enjoy, the cupcake toppers were so quick and simple to make.
For instructions on how I put these together, pop over to the Photocentric blog :D

Yawner

This is my final layout using the September club kit from Ann at The Scrapbook Garden. I know I've scrapped this photo of Donnie before, but I just love it so! I added a Pioneer Woman action in Photoshop before I printed it this time, to add a colour cast and softness that tied in with the Fancy Pants papers.
I've used a lot of the banners from the punched sheet on this layout too, and created one of my own to layer over the top, using a heart punch and the corrugated kraft card.
I definitely didn't want to waste any of that fabulous corrugated card, so I've used the waste from the punched hearts on the layout too! I love the way it looks layered under the title.
I added some Thickers to the kit contents for this one, but that's all.
This one's definitely my favourite of the three layouts - do you agree? Let me know in the comments :D

Olympic Torch

This is my second layout using the September club kit from Ann at The Scrapbook Garden. I made use of the banner sheet on this layout, layering them up over a strip of patterned paper and a photo.
I had a play with one of the photos that I took of the Olympic torch, and managed to isolate the colour on the torch and turn the rest of the image black and white. I love the way it makes the gold torch stand out! Thanks to one of our amazing Paralympians my home town now has a gold postbox, so I'm going to have to make a trip over at some point to take some photos of that too.
I added some Studio Calico alphas and wood veneer stars to the kit. I originally had gold sequin stars on the layout, but I prefer the extra dimension that the wood veneer shapes give. I think the wood worked better with the papers than the gold did too.
Thanks for popping in! Layout number three (and my personal favourite) is coming tomorrow :D

Sometimes I Sits and Thinks...

I absolutely loved working with the September club kit from Ann at The Scrapbook Garden - she filled it with fabulous papers from the 'Country Boutique' collection by Fancy Pants, including the banner sheet and corrugated kraft card.
I thought this photo of Mojo worked really well with the Fancy Pants papers, and the lined paper was crying out for a long title, so I've used a quote from Winnie the Pooh (A.A.Milne). I added some alphas from October Afternoon and Pebbles to the kit contents.
The corrugated card punches beautifully, and the butterflies look great with a stapled centre.
This is layout one of three, so I'll be back tomorrow with number two!

Learn Something New Every Day - front cover

So, here I am in my third year of Learn Something New Every Day, and I've actually managed to make a front cover! This is the furthest I've ever got, and I'm determined that I'm going to complete the inner pages too.
I used the August download stamps from Photocentric again - if you're interested in how I put this cover together, hop on over to their blog, as I've provided some instructions.
I've used a clear A5 display folder from Paperchase as the base of my album, and I've been keeping notes on my daily lessons, ready to create the inner pages. There's space for 40 inner pages in the book, so rather than stopping after a month, I may just keep going for a few extra to fill it completely.
It might take me a while to complete it, but that's ok. I'll be documenting lessons from the last 4 weeks of my job in student accommodation, at one of the busiest periods of the year, and then first 10 days of the start of my new adventure as a full time PhD student. I can't think of a better time to learn something new every day!

Just A Blur

It's challenge time over at The Studio again, and this week, in honour of her birthday, Amanda has challenged us to create a page with numbers as the focus.
When I spotted this paper from MME in my latest Quirky Kit, I knew it would be perfect for this page.
I'm not sure I'm happy with it though, I think it may be the background - I'm not used to using such a busy pattern :S
Thanks for stopping by - make sure you hop over to The Studio and see what the rest of the team have been up to!
